PROGRAMME - 1 : THREE DAY ART APPRECIATION WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN

Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow organised a Three Day Art Appreciation Workshop for Children in Class VI-VIII from 26 to 28 June 2014 at State Museum Lucknow in collaboration with Department of Culture, Govt. of U.P. at State Museum Lucknow. The State Museum invited Ms. Komal Pande to present this programme.

It was inaugurated by Prof. Yogendra Nath Yogi, a senior artist and Ex Chairman, State Lalit Kala Akademi on 26 June 2014 at State Museum Lucknow. At this function, Dr. A.K. Pande Museum Director, Sri Siddhartha Ghosh, Regional Secretary, Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow and the programme presenter Ms. Komal Pande were present, beside the student participated in the workshop alongwith their parents and other invitees.

A number of 37 students from class VI to VIII got registered their names for this programme. The participating students have shown their keen interest in the programme. This programme continued till 28th June 2014 daily between 11.00 am and 1 pm. At the closing ceremony, the certificate of participation was given to students by Dr. S. N. Upadhyay, Assistant Director, State Museum Lucknow.

PROGRAMME - 2 : EXHIBITION OF ARTWORKS CREATED IN THE ARTISTS’CAMPS AND WORKSHOPS

Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow organised an Exhibition of Artworks created in the Artists’ Camps and workshops during 2013-14 organised by LKARC, LUCKNOW from 25 to 31 August 2014 at its galleries. It was inaugurated by Dr. Ajai Kumar Pandey, Director, State Museum, Govt. of U.P., Lucknow on 25 August 2014. At this function, a number distinguished persons, artists and art lovers were present. A number of 65 art works of 57 artists were displayed in the exhibition. The Print media covered the event.

PROGRAMME – 3 : ARTIST IN RESIDENCY – PAPER MAKING WORKSHOP

Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow organised an ARTIST IN RESIDENCY – PAPER MAKING WORKSHOP from 28 August to 2 September 2014 at its galleries. Shri Anupam Chakrabory was invited as the Resident Artists for this workshop.

Anupam Chakraborty is an artist, designer and papermaker by profession. He did his graduation in painting from Kala Bhavan Santiniketan, masters in graphic arts from M. S. University of Baroda and post graduation in papermaking from Glasgow School of Art, UK. He has received many prestigious awards like national scholarship, junior and senior research fellowship from Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and Charles Wallace India Trust award to name a few.  His artworks are in collection of Chicago School of Art USA, Tamarind Art Gallery USA, National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi and many others in India and abroad. Anupam has over twenty years of work and teaching experience. Apart from creating artwork, teaching and conducting hands-on-training workshop, Anupam’s ongoing research areas are papermaking from plant fibre and artists’ book.

The programme concluded on 2 September 2014 at 5.30 pm. Shri B V Kharbade, Director, NRLC, Lucknow delivered the valedictory address at this occasion. A number of artists, art students, art lovers and participants of the workshop were present at this function. An exhibition of the paper (artworks) prepared in the workshop was displayed. PROGRAMME – 4 : ARTIST IN RESIDENCY –LITHOGRAPHY WORKSHOP, BARODA 

Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow organised the programme - ARTIST IN RESIDENCY –LITHOGRAPHY WORKSHOP at Faculty of Fine Arts, M. S. University, Baroda from 8 to 14 September 2014. The Artist in residency was a Senior Printmaker of India Shri Ajit Seal. The workshop started on 8 September 2014 with an opening ceremony in the presence of Master Printmaker - Shri Ajit Seal, Guest Artist – Shri Walter D’Souza Former Dean Dr. Shailendra Kushwaha and other faculty members. The programme concluded on 14 September 2014, Shri Surendran Nair, Baroda based eminent artist delivered the valedictory address in the presence of Prof. K.G. Subramanyam and Prof. Jyoti Bhatt.. At the occasion, an Exhibition of artworks created during the workshop was also held. The media covered the event.

PROGRAMME – 5 : North east camp, Diu

Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow organised the programme - North East Painters Camp at Diu In collaboration with WZCC, UDAIPUR from 15 to 20 September 2014, Duration 6 days. Ten artists (5 from North East Region and 5 from UP, Rajasthan and Gujarat) were invited to take part in the Camp. Out of which, the following 9 participants attended the Camp.

PROGRAMME – 6 : Hindi Saptah

The Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow organised the Hindi Saptah at the Kendra premises from 23 to 30 September 2014. Dr. Anuradha Tiwari, Assistant Professor, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Girls Postgraduate College, Lucknow inaugurated Hindi Saptah at 11.30 pm on 23 September 2014. A number of Hindi competitions were held during this week and Kendra staff members participated in them enthusiastically. The Hindi Saptah was concluded on 30 September 2014 with prize distribution ceremony.

PROGRAMME – 7 : SWACCHA BHARAT ABHIYAN ON 2 OCTOBER 2014

Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow initiated the cleaning drive in the RC Lucknow premises. All the staff members took part in this programme on 2 October 2014 very enthusiastically and cleaned the campus.

PROGRAMME – 8 : REGIONAL SCULPTORS CAMP (STONE CARVING)

Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow organized REGIONAL SCULPTORS CAMP (STONE CARVING) FROM 6 to 15 November 2014.

PROGRAMME – 9 : REFLECTIONS: A STORY OF VISUAL COMMUNICATION IN INDIA

Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow organized an Exhibition – REFLECTIONS: A STORY OF VISUAL COMMUNICATION IN INDIA in collaboration with Sri Sachin Kaluskar from 7 to 12 November 2014 at its galleries. This exhibition included the prints from various presses consists of mass-produced yet important prints of various subject-matters which serve as a device of visual communication for students, scholars and connoisseurs. The central theme of this exhibition is clearly concerns the relationship and the constant dialogue/communication between religious images, socio-political statements and their changing configuration. A good number of visitors witnessed the event. Media covered the event.

PROGRAMME – 10 : Multi Disciplinary workshop

Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow organized a Multi Disciplinary Art Camp from 1 - 10 December 2014 at its premises comprising most of the young and upcoming artists from the disciplines of Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics and Graphics. The Concept of this workshop was to bring artists of various disciplines from different states closer in order to discover new creative dimensions and also to give them a platform to interact with each other in the duration of Camp at the Centre.

PROGRAMME – 11 : Installation Camp

Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow organized an INSTALLATION CAMP from 13 to 20 December 2014 at its campus. This programme was held as part of Lucknow Banaras Utsav organised by Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. In first part, this Camp was held at Lucknow between 13 & 20 December 2014 at LKARC Lucknow.

The Centre has invited following 30 young and upcoming artists from Uttar Pradesh to take part in this Artist Camp. The theme of the Camp is - KASHI GHAT KE KINARE AND MAPPING GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATIONS OF ANCIENT KASHI:-

PROGRAMME – 12 : Exhibition Installation Art

In its second part, the Lalit Kala Akademi organised an exhibition of the Installation art at Faculty of Visual Arts, BHU, Varanasi from 25 to 27 December 2014 on the theme - Sacred Landscape and Cosmic Geometry of Varanasi. The sale counter of LK publications was also organised. The exhibition coincided with a series of programmes of other Akademis during the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s visit to BHU, Varanasi.

This exhibition presented ten installations done by thirty young artists from the State of Uttar Pradesh. A number of art lovers, artists and faculty members visited the exhibition.

PROGRAMME – 13 : North East Print Making Camp

Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow organized a North East Print Making Camp from 7 - 14 January 2015 at its premises comprising most of the young and upcoming artists, five from the North East States and five from the Centre’s region i.e. Rajasthan, Gujarat and U.P.. The Concept of this workshop was to bring artists of print making discipline from different states closer in order to discover new creative dimensions and also to give them a platform to interact with each other in the duration of Camp at the Centre. This was a unique opportunity for the North Eastern artists to visit Lucknow and come across its diverse culture of Awadh.

PROGRAMME – 14 : Seminar on Prof. K G Subramanyan

The Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre organised a Seminar on Prof. K G Subramanyan in collaboration with Dept. of Art History & Aesthetics, Faculty of Fine Arts, M S University Baroda at Baroda on 27 & 28 February 2015. The following participants attended the Seminar and read the papers:-

During the Seminar, en Exhibition on K G Subramanyan’s works i.e. Glass paintings, toys, prints and terracotta etc. was organised at the Archive Gallery of the Faculty from 27 Feb. to 1 March 2015.  The Exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. K G Subramanyan.

PROGRAMME – 16

Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, Lucknow organized Exhibition of Artworks of Lalit Kala Akademi Scholars 2013-14 from 12-18 March 2015 at its galleries comprising six young and upcoming scholars from the disciplines of Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics and Graphics. This opening of the exhibition was held on 12 March 2015 at 5.00 pm at the Centre. These scholars have worked in the studios of the Regional Centre Lucknow for duration of one year on Lalit Kala Akademi Scholarship.
