Hon’ble Union Minister of Culture & Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, accompanied by Shri Vivek Aggarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Culture visited the Garhi Regional Centre (Garhi Studios) of Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. During the visit, the Hon’ble Minister toured various studios and interacted with artists, research scholars, and art practitioners working across diverse disciplines, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, and other contemporary visual art practices. He observed the ongoing creative processes, appreciated the artworks being produced, and engaged in meaningful discussions to gain insights into their artistic journeys, research initiatives, and professional aspirations. The Hon’ble Minister also held an interactive session with artists and scholars, where key issues related to artistic practice, infrastructure development, institutional support, and opportunities for emerging artists were discussed. Emphasizing the importance of nurturing creativity and innovation, he highlighted measures to further strengthen Garhi Studios as a dynamic centre for artistic excellence and cultural exchange. The visit reaffirmed the Ministry of Culture’s commitment to supporting artists, enhancing creative infrastructure, and fostering an enabling environment for the growth and promotion of India’s rich visual arts tradition.
