On 5th August 2026, Lalit Kala Akademi, Regional Centre Kolkata, commemorated its 72nd Foundation Day. The celebration began with the grand inauguration of the inspiring exhibition, "Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram." We were honoured to hear from eminent senior artists Shri Shyamal Roy and Shri Mrityunjoy Chatterjee, and Smt. Gouri Basu (Former Director, EZCC). Their reflections on the journey of Indian visual arts and their long association with the Akademi left everyone deeply inspired. A heartfelt thank you to all the practising artists, art students, scholars, and art enthusiasts who joined us to make this milestone event unforgettable.
