The three-day “Waste to Art” Camp, organised by Lalit Kala Akademi, Regional Centre, Kolkata, under the “Seva Hi Sanskriti” programme, was inaugurated on 17 September 2026 by Smt. Gargi Bose, Eminent Artist, in the presence of Dr. Rahas Kumar Mohanty, Regional Secretary I/c. The camp brings together 15 women artists from West Bengal, specialising in Kantha and Collage Art, who are exploring creative expressions by transforming discarded and waste materials into innovative works of art. The initiative celebrates creativity, sustainability and women’s artistic empowerment through the creative reuse of materials.
